Deeksha Mahila Welfare Society

We aim to build a society where everyone is self-reliant with quality education, equal rights, health benefits, skill development, and training through the latest technologies.

Deeksha Mahila Welfare Society, established in 1999 in Veerasagram village, Vizianagaram district, Andhra Pradesh, is dedicated to holistic community development. Our multifaceted approach focuses on health, education, and agricultural advancement, incorporating the latest technologies to uplift local farming communities. We prioritize women's empowerment through the formation of groups along with the strengthening of existing farmer clubs, which eventually fosters self-reliance and dignity. Our comprehensive programs include initiatives on sanitation, financial literacy, and advocating child rights and girl child education. Additionally, we organize seasonal health camps and eye camps, providing free surgeries for cataract patients and ensuring access to vital healthcare services. We are committed to identify and support the socio-economically deprived, especially women, enabling them to become educated and skilled.

Field Management Program at Mugada Village

In Mugada Village, under the leadership of Mandal Agricultural Officer K. Shireesh and VAA Allu Prasad, a field management program was conducted in collaboration with FPC farmers. The main objective of the program was to reduce the use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides and to promote awareness about organic alternatives to protect the environment, soil, and human health. The program emphasized proper agricultural management over a 14-week period, guiding farmers on best practices for rice cultivation. Farmers were informed that they would receive a GAP (Good Agricultural Practices) certificate upon completion. The event saw participation from VAA Saikumar, Prakriti Agricultural staff, Village Sarpanch Shiva Duni Naidu, Vice Sarpanch Murali, FPO Director Eeshwar Rao, village elders, and participating farmers.

Distribution of School Bags

MLA Baby Nayana of Bobbili Constituency distributed school bag kits to students at ZPH School in Badangi Mandal. Former MLA Thentu Lakshmi Naidu, Deputy DEO, MEO, MPDO, School Chairman Seshagiri, and CEO of Deeksha Mahila Welfare Society Shanti were among the attendees. Several public representatives, students, and parents participated in the event. The Deeksha Mahila Welfare Society distributed notebooks to the school students. The distribution was carried out by the MLA and the former MLA.

Water Tanks Cleaning in Badangi village

With the important collaboration of Deeksha Mahila Welfare Society, a village in Salur Mandal, is ensuring the cleanliness of its water tanks. Villagers are making better use of the resources, considering them valuable assets. This cooperation is believed to enhance water supply to the village by ensuring cleaner water tanks. The effort supports the community in accessing better-quality water. This program provides assistance in gathering information about village water supplies.

Exposure Visit for Children in Badangi Village to Experience Farming at Raithula Jattu Farm

Deeksha Mahila Welfare Society conducts exposure visits for children in Badangi village to learn about farming in Raithalu Jattu farm. These visits provide children with hands-on experience and knowledge about farming techniques and practices. The initiative promotes agricultural education among the younger generation, empowering them with valuable skills. By fostering an understanding of farming and agricultural sustainability, society aims to instill a sense of responsibility towards the environment.

Promoting Organic Foods: Deeksha Mahila Welfare Society's Stall at Guntur Nagarjuna University Exhibition

Deeksha Mahila Welfare Society showed their support for organic foods at Guntur Nagarjuna University Exhibition. They had a stall with a variety of organic food products, promoting health and sustainability. The stall had fresh fruits and homemade snacks, giving people a taste of organic eating. People loved the high quality and purity of the products, supporting eco-friendly practices. This effort by the society helps promote healthy living and supports local farmers.

Empowering Farmers: Launch of Turmeric Powder Mission

In the project to produce turmeric powder for tribal women farmers through the FPO in collaboration with the Deeksha Mahila Welfare Society, Dr. Shridevi Senior Scientists at RARS, Anakapalli, along with Dr. Shrinivas senior seientist at ARS, AD of the Agriculture Branch, AO of the Agriculture Branch, an Artculture officer, and CEO of DMWS, began the turmeric powder making Mission. Additionally, the Pappu Processing Mission was launched. In this initiative, the CEO of Dharani and DMWS spearheaded the coordination efforts.

Organising a candle-based Training Program

The Deeksha Mahila Society organized a candle-making training session with NABARD's help. At the meeting, the NABARD DDM spoke, and there were other important people like DMWS CEO Shanthi, a member of the Gram Panchayat, the Vice Sarpanch of Bimavaram, and Research Person Jhansi. Thirty women from self-help groups (SHGs) participated in the program. They came to learn and improve their skills in candlemaking. It was a good opportunity for everyone involved to share knowledge and ideas. The meeting was aimed to empower women and promote self-sufficiency. Overall, it was a successful and productive session.
